Man Of the Year

Our Annual Community Fundraising Dinner is fast approaching. Thanks to the success of our events in previous years, the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of UNICO has been able to continue its tradition of lending a “helping hand” to those in our community in need.

While we are a relatively small Chapter, we pride ourselves in identifying the extraordinary needs of our community and its families and helping to aid their plight. Through your generosity and support, we have been able to continue to endow scholarships at local high schools and colleges to enable young people in our community to fulfill their educational dreams; we have continued our annual turkey basket drive, where we fill 100 baskets with traditional Thanksgiving dinners for distribution by members to local families in need, allowing the spirit of Thanksgiving to be realized by those who may not have been able to celebrate otherwise; and our busy year comes to a close in the month of December when we host a Christmas party for 125 underprivileged children and their families. Our members become chaperones for a day and assist a child with shopping for presents, and sometimes for basic necessities, for their families.

With your generous support, we expect to accomplish more this year than ever before to help those who need us in our community.

This year’s Community Leadership Award recipient is a local person who has impacted our community both in his professional and philanthropic endeavors. It is with great pleasure that this year we honor an extraordinary Italian American: George Bochetto Bochetto & Lentz The Award Dinner will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022 at 6:30 pm in Lincoln Hall at the Union League of Philadelphia, 140 South Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19102. A reservation form is enclosed for the dinner and the souvenir ad book. We hope you will join us in honoring George. Your generosity will allow UNICO to continue offering a helping hand to those in need all year long.
